Day 19 – Bob Dylan – Love Sick

Let’s do a Bob Dylan week. He recently won a Pulitzer Prize, and he is one the greatest songwriters ever.

Starting with a song that realy got me into Dylan. Before the Time Out Of Mind album I already had some Dylan cd’s, Blonde On Blonde and MTV Unplugged, but that didn’t make a great impression to me. Time Out Of Mind did, and especialy the first song: Love Sick. Since that day I’m into Dylan. Saw him live a few years ago and still discovering “new” tracks as I keep slowly buying his back catalogue.

Recently I bought a book with his songlyrics from 1974 till 2001, in English and translated into Dutch by Bindervoet & Henkes. A fragment from Love Sick (Hartzeer in translation):

Door straten waar licht is gedoofd
Loop ik, loop ik met jou in mijn hoofd
Mijn voeten zijn brak, mijn hersens staan strak
En de wolken huilen

Worth a Nobel price.
